I recently came across a thought-provoking quote: “Image isn’t everything, it’s just the first thing.” With this in mind, may I suggest that as interior designers, it is invaluable to surround ourselves with the same level of beauty and style that we provide to our clients.

Is your office space uninspiring? You deserve a beautiful workspace just as much as your clients do. If you have a studio or showroom for clients to visit, consider what impression it makes on them. Your workspace is a 3D portfolio of your abilities and talents, and clients will form opinions based on what they see.

If your office, studio, or showroom does not reflect your design expertise, it can create negative energy and make it more difficult to convince clients of your abilities. Take inspiration from successful marketers such as department stores or high-end boutiques – the message is clear: what you see is what you want.

So, let me encourage you to take action. Schedule time to design your dream office or studio and give your space the makeover it deserves. Let your professional space work for you, not against you. You’ll gain more energy and inspiration from it, and it’s what your prospects and clients expect.
